Daniel Anderson and Heroic Dose is a three-piece band from the Raleigh, NC, area, playing original music influenced by electric blues, Southern rock, soul, and old American roots music.

Anderson's songs draw from the things people don't always want to talk about, unless it's from the confines of a therapist's couch. Much of his music is rooted in his own hard times, but with a slightly dark yet lighthearted sense of humor ever-present.

The band officially formed in 2022, playing the odd gig here and there, but 2026 was a big year, with the band opening for Tab Benoit, Bywater Call, and Quinn Sullivan, as well as releasing their debut EP, Old News, which peaked at No. 23 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Blues Rock Album Chart.

Live, the band can approach the material like an experimental jazz ensemble at times. The sections remain intact, but whatever happens in between is open for interpretation on any given night, making Daniel Anderson and Heroic Dose an equally comfortable fit on a jam-band-packed festival bill or in your favorite local blues dive.
